Gift of Water® is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing filtered and clean drinking water to the third world communities that it serves.
Gift of Water®is a well-established water purification program that has been working for over 15 years, primarily in Haiti. Our experts have years of combined experience in water filtration and our purification system has been recognized by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Our purifier uses chlorine tablets together with nylon filters and activated carbon to deliver superior drinking water to rural communities. We have an established model for partnering with those rural communities in Haiti and we are continuously attracting new sponsors to help Haitian families. We frequently work in association with the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas (PTPA).
Who We Are
Latest News
The Gift of Water® program that has been in operation for 15 years had to close in 2009. The program's demise was hastened on two fronts. Fist, the aggressive program growth over the last 5 years overwhelmed the business processes that were established to support a much smaller operation. Second, this non-profit struggled financially. Regardless, Phil & Barbara Warwick along with their team who created, nurtured and grew this program must be commended for what they created. Literally hundreds of thousands of Haitians and people in impoverished countries are alive & healthy today because of their efforts. Thank you most sincerely on their behalf.
Recently, Pete Murphy, involved with a charity that was using the Gift of Water program, discerned to re-start the program. Together with a new board and a new team, this is now well underway.
Of utmost importance to those communities/sponsors using the Gift of Water purifier is to note that we are making the EXACT SAME PURIFIER as was previously available. Therefore, all parts and components being produced from this point forward will work in the purifiers that you have in established homes.
However, there will be changes in order to establish a more sustainable model for the long term. We have the benefit of hindsight and learning based on what has occurred previously. We look forward to continuing to serve the people of Haiti and other countries with what we feel is the best available alternative for clean filtered water in rural communities.
